By using remanufactured cartridges within your company, community, or government service you contribute to significantly reducing waste.

Reusing a cartridge prevents the production of a new cartridge and optimizes the use of energy and valuable natural resources like aluminium (bauxite), oil, and wood.

Things to know: A laser cartridge requires 3.4 litres of oil for its production.

  • 1.5 kg of waste can be saved per refilled cartridge.

  • An ink cartridge thrown away takes 450 years to decompose.

  • Yields are increasing by 10% per year worldwide.

  • It takes about 100 years to biodegrade a plastic cartridge. Recycling this plastic is, moreover, very difficult because it is mixed with the resin.

Buying remanufactured cartridges represents a significant savings while preserving the environment!

IS USING REMANUFACTURED CARTRIDGES TRULY MORE ECOLOGICAL?

  • According to ADEME (Agency for the Environment and Energy Management), producing remanufactured cartridges provides for using the same raw materials for several cycles of use (1), while with regards to cartridge recycling, the processes themselves require energy, water, and also generate some waste. Analyzing the life cycle of a cartridge shows “that reusing rather than recycling components may be as much as twice as advantageous” (2)

(1) ARMOR’s remanufactured cartridges have undergone only one cycle of use.

Innovation 2011: desk accessories made from laser cartridges!

logo_newlife

ARMOR and its partner Revialis have gone further by partnering with a German office supply company (HAN) to launch a range of green office accessories.

Conserving natural resources: This is the goal ARMOR, Revial and HAN have undertaken. The innovative New Life concept, implemented by our three firms, recycles used cartridges for laser printers and turns them into new office products. This is the first closed recycling loop in office supplies!
