Instructions for activating the extra capacity when the printer indicates the cartridge is empty.
The printers in question are: B40W, BX300FN, BX310FN, BX600FW, D120, DX4450, DX7400, DX7450, DX8400, DX8450, DX9400F, SX100, SX105, SX110, SX115, SX200, X205, SX210, SX215, SX218, SX400, SX405, SX410, SX415, SX510W, SX515W, SX600FW, SX610FW, D78*, D92* DX4000*, DX4050*, DX5000*, DX5050*, X6050*, S20*, S21*
(*) For these printers, the extra capacity can sometimes be activated without any
manipulation. See specific cases at the end.

After inserting a new cartridge, you can print until the following message is displayed (see illustration). Click “How to....” Then ignore messages from the printer by clicking “Next” then “OK.”

A - Remove and replace the cartridge
B - Ignore messages from the printer by clicking “Next” then “OK.”

A new message appears indicating the amount of ink available. You get now 50% more to print from a black cartridge or 100% more for colour cartridges.

The cartridge will definitely be empty when this window is displayed.
* The extra capacity may sometimes activate itself.
After inserting a new cartridge, you can print until the following message is displayed:
Special case 1: The extra capacity has enabled without any manipulation. The cartridge is now definitely empty.3
Special case 2: If, after reinserting the cartridge you get this message, it means that the extra capacity has already been activated and the cartridge is empty.
This procedure is valid only once per cartridge, trying a second time may damage your print heads. This applies to each colour cartridge.
